Beis Menachem
In Honor of The Rebbe
At the center of it all stands the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of righteous memory, known throughout the world simply as “the Rebbe.”
The Rebbe’s undying love extended to every Jew, wherever he or she might be. No circumstance or detail was ever too small for his concern and dedication. This boundless devotion established him as one of the most widely known and influential Jewish leaders of modern times.
The Rebbe taught that this love is not merely a feeling. It must become action: a Torah class, a mitzvah, a meal, a visit, a school, a mikvah, a helping hand and a welcoming Jewish home. He inspired his emissaries to address the spiritual and material needs of the Jewish people and to help each person recognize his or her power to illuminate the world.
We are profoundly privileged to bear the name Beis Menachem, “The House of Menachem,” in honor of the Rebbe. It is far more than a name above our doors. It is our identity, our inspiration, and our sacred responsibility. To carry his name means never standing still. We must constantly grow in our learning, prayer, kindness, programs, facilities, and ability to serve.
We do not grow for growth’s sake. We grow on behalf of the Jewish people. We honor those who came before us by building boldly for the generations still to come. Chabad remains committed to continuing the Rebbe’s legacy of unwavering spiritual and material support for every Jew and for the entire community.
Please consider yourself forever welcome!
